Chile Approvals
1 – ELECTRICAL SAFETY CERTIFICATION
Mandatory certification, which can be requested by manufacturers, importers, distributors and traders of electrical products.
- 1. Electric household appliance
- 2. Portable tools
- 3. Electrical Conductors
- 4. Lighting
- 5. Materials for low tension
- 6. Audio and video
2 – FUEL PRODUCTS (GAS AND LIQUID FUELS)
According to PC Protocol No. 7, it requires that all domestic appliances that use fuels (gas and liquid fuels) must be tested and certified for commercialization in the Chilean territory.
• Gas appliances (stoves, boilers, heaters, ovens, etc.),
• Gas fittings (valves, meters, regulators, pipes, etc.).
3 – LED TECHNOLOGY
Mandatory certification, which can be requested by manufacturers, importers and distributors, and applies not only to LED lamps, but also to connectors and control devices for LED lamps.
4 – CERTIFICATIONS OF SOLAR PRODUCTS
Certification of solar products, such as collector and deposits, whose main source of energy is the emission of radiation from the sun.
5 – ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The Chilean government has established a series of specific standards to ensure compliance with energy efficiency regulations, which apply to:

- 2. Freezers
- 3. Incandescent Lamps
- 4. Fluorescent Lamps
- 5. Electrical appliances for domestic use in stand by
- 6. Air conditioners
- 7. Three-phase motors
6 – TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT
The entity that regulates the homologation of telecommunications equipment is the Subsecretaria de Telecomunicações (Subtel). Approvals must be requested for equipment that connects to the Public Telephony network or uses the radio spectrum and GSM / WCDMA cell phones, etc.
