Brazil Approvals

Brazil is one of the countries in Latin America, with the greatest number of regulations in force for product certifications. There are three important bodies in charge of controlling and administering different regulations depending on the actuation segment, which are:

INMETRO – NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF METROLOGY, QUALITY AND TECHNOLOGY

The mandatory certification of products, regulated by INMETRO, is necessary for those products that present risks to consumer safety, to the environment or when their performance can bring economic damages to society

 Electrical Equipment Certification:

Certification of Medical Devices (Equipment on health surveillance system)

Other mandatory certification equipment

ANVISA – NATIONAL HEALTH SURVEILLANCE AGENCY

Its institutional purpose is to promote the protection of the health of the population, through the sanitary control of products such as:

ANATEL – NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS AGENCY.

Anatel, through Resolution 242, establishes the general rules and procedures for the certification and homologation of telecommunication products, which applies practically to all telecommunication equipment that is manufactured, imported or commercialized in the Brazilian territory.
